4. I don’t understand the free trial - why do I have to pay to read the full message under the trial

The conditions of the free trial are made very clear at at sign up and are on our home page and in the sign up form.

The purpose of the   Free Trial Membership (click for details)   is so you can register and gauge the response before upgrading to full membership (US$29.00 for one year).  Many services ask for an upfront fee - before you know what sort of response you will receive.  Each property owner response, or caretaker job notification will tell you the place of the caretaker job, start date and duration.  You will be emailed the summary property owner message and caretaker job  notification. If this interests you, you can then upgrade to communicate with the property owner.

We have put over a years research, development and investment into the system and if we permitted communication under the trial we would not receive returns to invest in improving the service and increasing the traffic for everyone. The service does not and cannot guarantee you get a caretaker job as this is up to you to convince the property owner.  We are a matching service - bringing property owners and caretakers together and providing the resources and assistance to help.

5. Are there fees for caretaking? What are they?

Each caretaking position varies. Benefits can include rent free accommodation, salary, food etc. Caretaking positions are long term, short term, full time, part time, permanent, casual.

Remember there is a great benefit in receiving rent free accommodation (especially for long term caretaking).

We cannot give examples of rates as these vary by country and location.

The Caretaking.com service is free for property owners and we do not charge any placement fee. We only charge a fee for caretaker  gold membership (currently $US29.00 /year).

14 City X is 2,000 Km/miles away - why did you notify me of this?

We notify you of positions according to the information from your profile. However within a state it is very difficult for the system to work out how far away a city or town is to you. So rather then miss telling you of a position that may interest you, we tell you about all caretaker jobs in your state. Just ignore the ones that are too far away.
